Helen's Haven’s Heroes 2023

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month!  It is estimated that 3.5 million reports of child abuse and maltreatment are made every year in the United States and during the COVID-19 pandemic, children have continued to remain at risk of abuse. Helen’s Haven Children’s Advocacy Center has served 3,354 children and their families from Liberty, Bryan, Evans, Long, McIntosh, and Tattnall counties during the past 17 years and has provided prevention and awareness outreach to over 36,000 children and adults. Helen’s Haven CAC provides specialized services to support child victims and their families at no cost. The Center’s mission meets the needs of sexually and physically abused children through prevention, intervention, therapy, and collaboration. The Center provides a safe, friendly place where a child can end their silence by telling a trained forensic interviewer about the abuse during a videotaped interview. In addition, children and families are offered counseling services to provide healing and hope for the future. The Center coordinates with agencies involved in the investigation of physical and sexual abuse and offers education for professionals and adults in child abuse awareness and prevention.

The Heroes pictured below made generous donations to Helen’s Haven CAC in order to sponsor a ribbon outside their businesses and display inside, for their clients,  educational materials about child abuse prevention. The Fraser Foundation is very grateful to each of these businesses for partnering with us to help protect our children from child abuse. We will be honoring these heroes at our Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony Saturday November 18, 2023 from 5:30-7:00 pm at the Fraser Counseling Center / 203 Mary Lou Drive / Hinesville, GA 31313.

The total raised for Helen’s Haven CAC in our 2023 Blue Ribbon Campaign was $5,450. Thank you, Heroes!
