Gwynn’s Garden Today
Since October 27, 2018, Gwynn’s Garden has offered a quiet reflective space for visitors to find peace in the midst of life’s storms. The plants are established now. Reggie found plants varieties that were not in the deer populations preferred fare. Words do not adequately express my gratitude for those who contributed to this memorial for my sister.
The plaque pictured lists the contributors and is on display in the Education Room inside the Fraser Center (two people who contributed after the plaque was created and thus are not listed are Noel Osteen and Jerry Floyd). This room has a window through which you can view the garden.
In addition, I have stitched in counted cross-stitch my vision of how I picture Gwynn in her Spirit form. It is my masterpiece! I doubt I will attempt a project of this size again in the future.
Gwynn and I often celebrated our birthdays together growing up, since our birthdays were only 8 days apart. I turn 65 this year (May 3) and Gwynn is now ageless. The picture was taken on Gwynn’s fiftieth birthday that we celebrated together on St. Simons Island, GA. If you would like to make a donation for my birthday or in memory of Gwynn, please make checks to:
John Stetzer III created our logo for the Foundation which I am so excited to share! Both my parents were Texans, before moving to Hinesville, GA in 1957 where my dad set up his medical practice. Appropriately, the flower is a Texas Blue Bonnet and the heart, represents to me, the presence of God in all our life moments.
My earlier blogs in this section, chronicle the spiritual journey Gwynn and I made through the challenge of her cancer and the creation of Gwynn’s Garden upon her transition into eternal life. It’s a journey that greatly impacted my life and I am grateful to John Stetzer III, who created our new website and encouraged me to leave the history of that spiritual journey intact here, for those who want to glean the treasures Gwynn and I discovered.
